Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of Richard McCormick's sons - was born at Woodland Hills, California in 1956. Her father worked as a teacher while her mother was a stay-at-home mother. Michael Dennis Kevin, her two brothers older. McCormick was an accomplished artist and singer from the age of 6. She show puppet shows for her neighbors. The fairytale story of her rise to fame began when she took home the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of six, which prompted a call from an agent for talent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who asked if she'd like to enter the show industry. McCormick landed her first major task in 1964 when she appeared in a TV commercial featuring Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. In the following year she was a guest on the firm's Chatty Cathy Doll and was soon chosen to play her role in the La Jolla Playhouse play Wind ItUp and ItBreaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick, chosen from more than 1500 auditioned children, was cast as the older of three two-headed daughters in The Brady Bunch (1969), starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. The show lasted for five seasons. In her autobiography Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice published in 2008 McCormick revealed that during the fifth season of the show, she almost lost her virginity to her screen co-star and brother Barry Williams. The actress was sixteen years old and the actor was 19, at the time. It could have been, she says. However, the timing for our relationship was not right.
